If you are reading this, chances are you are looking for some kind of support –whether for yourself or for someone else. It can be a scary step to seek help… I should know, I’ve been there as well. As such, I will do my best to support you within the best of professional competency.
Therapy is not just about healing but also about promoting wellness, connection, and sense of self. I’ve always connected with the misfits and outcasts and those that don’t quite fit in. Eventually though I found my people… and times they found me… I just had to answer my door. Whether it’s because you have different interests than your peers… or struggling as a minority in a majority dominant community/field… or because of familial/personal circumstances that make it hard to connect…or just the general sense of being different or not enough… If that sounds like you, we may be a good fit.
I work from a strength-based, compassion-focused, culturally sensitive, and trauma-informed lens. I have years of experience working in the social and community service field with individuals of all walks of life –struggling with mental health, substance use, isolation, lack of community support and trauma. I have a background in life sciences, counselling psychology, concurrent disorders, and social service work. I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the CRPO (College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario) meaning that I must continuously demonstrate that I possess the required knowledge, skill and judgment to safely practise psychotherapy and ensure they meet the College standards; including regular Supervision from an experienced and established Registered Psychotherapist. This ensures that you are provided safe and reliable care.
I will work collaboratively with you by integrating various theories and modalities to find what works best for you! I believe strongly that the mind-body connections are important to the healing process. As you may already know…our mind and body are not always in agreement. As such, I incorporate nervous system education and somatic interventions. I try my best to be flexible and creative in a way that works for you because therapy does not have to be put in a box. I am not here to judge you or tell you what to do; I am here to guide and support.
So, what brings you to my page today? Loneliness? Burnout? Relationship trouble? Family issues? Betrayal or situational trauma? Life transitions? General mental health and/or mood disorders? Whatever it may be, you are not alone, and you don’t have to go through it alone. Humans are social beings not meant to be truly alone. Please reach out if you would like a 20-minute free phone consultation or go ahead and book yourself in through the website link! Looking forward to connecting with you!
