Hey, I’m Zawad! I’m a Muslim South-Asian therapist who understands how hard it can be to find culturally competent care in our community. I entered this field because there aren’t many therapists who look like me, and I want to change that. My mission is to make therapy accessible for those who’ve felt judged, misunderstood, or dismissed for expressing their emotions.
In my work, I leave room for spirituality while recognizing that it means something different for everyone. Together, we’ll focus on building healthier communication, understanding your experiences, and replacing coping strategies that no longer serve you with ones that truly do. I help clients work through anxiety, depression, and identity challenges, helping them find purpose and create new stories that feel real.
I’ve worked extensively with at-risk youth navigating homelessness, substance use, and complex mental health challenges, and it’s taught me the value of honest conversation. I believe each of us has incredibly powerful stories that are worth sharing, and whatever you’ve been holding in or wanting to say out loud, this is a space where you can. I’ll help you find solutions that feel true to who you are, using a collaborative approach grounded in Narrative Therapy, CBT, and DBT, where you set the pace, whether that’s to find quick solutions, or to slowly unpack whatever it is you’re working through.
Therapy doesn’t have to look like the stereotypical scene of a couch and note-taking. With me, it’s a conversation; one where we explore what’s going on and find ways to move forward. We can’t always control what happens to us, but we can choose how we respond, and I’ll be here to walk alongside you as we discover what wellness truly means for you.
