I am a registered social worker, currently pursuing the Master of Social Work degree at Toronto Metropolitan University. I am dedicated to providing compassionate and supportive counseling services. My practice is rooted in a humanistic, trauma-informed, and culturally sensitive approaches, incorporating critical mental health perspectives and frameworks of anti-oppression and anti-colonialism. I honor each person’s unique journey and strengths, while recognizing the profound impact of social and systemic factors on mental health and well-being.
With years of experience working in community settings, I have supported marginalized populations facing challenges often beyond their control, including mental health struggles, addictions, homelessness, disabilities, neurodivergent, and diverse identities. I have witnessed firsthand the effects of systemic discrimination, oppression, and stigmatization on individuals already navigating significant hardships. I aim to support individuals to re-gain the agency in their lives, meanwhile advocate for the equity, inclusion, and well-being for all.
I specialize in working with individuals experiencing mental health and/or addiction related struggles, as well as those facing associated issues, such as life transitions, cultural and identity struggles, and self-esteem issues.
As an immigrant and a bilingual therapist fluent in English and Mandarin, I deeply felt and acknowledge the complexities of navigating different cultural environments, and the challenges finding one’s identity within and between cultures. I strive to foster a safer, inclusive, and culturally adaptive space where people can explore their emotions and experiences with openness, and authenticity, and a sense of safety.
I believe therapy provides an opportunity to a collaborative journey of clarity, healing, recovery, or personal growth. It will be my pleasure to walk alongside with you on this journey of self-exploration.
