As unique as your life experiences and relationships, so is the mental health care alongside it. As a mental health care provider, my goal is to walk along with you. To be a support to you, as you move through the emotional blocks, challenges and/or changes you are seeking to make. Counselling and Psychotherapy is, a tool, to process change in life and a dedicated place for your goals. The approach we will take will be collaborative.
My foundational approach is trauma and mindfulness-based. My primary language is English, avec du moyenne niveau de Français.
I am registered with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario as a licensed Registered Psychotherapist. I received training through a Master of Counselling Psychology (MCP) from Yorkville University with a specialization in trauma care. Prior, to counselling, I worked as a researcher looking to understand how our environments inform memories through language and our senses. This was through a Master of Cognitive Psychology (MSC) at the University of Western Ontario. I have taught mindfulness, meditation and yoga for 6 years in the community to children, teens and adults. Complimentary to this, I have worked as a goals coach, swim instructor, and music teacher over the years.
I blend various learning styles and therapeutic approaches based on my training and your desired focus to support you best, in this human-to-human work of counselling and psychotherapy. Unweaving the knots in life can be something with help, and encouragement along the way.
With kind regards,
Kelsey
