About…

Hello, thank you for reading my profile. My passion is to help you feel more fulfilled, empowered, and present in your life. Life is hard, trauma is real, and inequality is systemic. I provide a safe and nonjudgmental space for you to feel how you feel, as you come to better understand your thoughts, experiences, and relationships. I believe we each possess unique inner strengths and resources to help us move through life and get out of our heads (and into the moment). My personal and ongoing experience with grief allows me to meet you ‘where you are’, at your own pace, as we co-develop strategies that work for you.

My two masters degrees (sociology & counselling psychology) and 10+ years in the non-profit sector has provided me with in-depth experience working with diverse populations, including refugees and newcomers. I participate on the Leadership Committee for the Guelph-Wellington Local Immigration Partnership (2012-present) and have volunteered at Women in Crisis, Immigrant Services, & United Way. Working with both individuals and couples, I’m trained in The Gottman Method (Level One) and have completed more than 25 other trainings, including trauma, narrative therapy, LGBTQ+, and more.

As someone who has attended therapy for 20+ years, I understand the challenges of being vulnerable with another person. I strongly believe in taking time for yourself and I always strive to support your unique journey. I utilize an integrative approach drawing from narrative therapy, attachment theory, and strengths-based therapy to ensure you receive personalized care. To me, life is an ocean with waves that rise and fall, and we must adapt to ebbs and flows. With time, patience, and dedication, therapy can be a powerful experience.

I look forward to working with you.
