I’m an empathetic, resourceful, and skilled mental health worker dedicated to enhancing people’s well-being and facilitating their recovery from sufferings. I have worked as a counselling psychologist (as designated in China) with clients in universities and private practice settings for 12 years in China; and now a student psychotherapist working in a hybrid way in Toronto. I am bilingual and offer sessions in both English and Mandarin. I hope to work with clients from all cultures/nationalities, especially international students and immigrants based on my experience.
Based on clients’ needs and my formulation, I integrate a variety of modalities and interventions including psychodynamic approach, Emotional Focused Therapy, grief counselling, stress reduction & healthy coping strategies. I am always focusing on providing a relationship in which you feel relief at finally being heard, seen and held with compassion and unconditional positive regard. In sessions I often ask myself, “How can I adjust myself to hear and hold my clients better?” I will hear and hold your emotions and experiences, thus helping you integrate these personal struggles into who you are.
