You’re likely on this page because you have identified something within yourself or your life that feels out of your control. You may have focused your energy on trying to push these feelings out of your mind or tried to navigate them on your own. While I believe every individual is capable of meeting life’s challenges, sometimes we need a helping hand. That is why I strive to meet each individual where they are at because I recognize the courage it takes to be able to acknowledge you need help and to reach out for it.
My therapeutic approach strives to be integrative, flexible, and inclusive. I have experience working with individuals on topics related to anxiety, depression, racial trauma, acculturation, domestic violence, and emotional regulation. In my work, I rely on several different therapeutic approaches- internal family systems (IFS), cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), emotion- focused therapy (EFT), and narrative therapy- to help you in your journey of exploration and meaning-making. Aiming to honour the unique nature of your life experiences, values, and beliefs I work to be flexible in my approach to help you towards your goals in a way that feels authentic for you. My personal experience as an immigrant woman of colour has also guided my desire to provide culturally- sensitive and anti-oppressive practices in therapy and to acknowledge the challenges that are present in marginalized communities and underrepresented groups in society.
I believe one of the most important factors in therapy is the relationship between the therapist and you, which is why I use a client-centered approach. My commitment to you is to create a safe environment where you can be vulnerable and authentic without fear of judgement. It is important for me to work with each individual collaboratively and to know that we are working towards a common goal of equipping you with the tools you need for your mental well-being.
