About…

Welcome and thank you for exploring options to move yourself towards greater mental wellbeing.

My name is Aramita De Melo and I am an intern at Wellness With Batool and a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying), currently completing a supervised practicum, towards a Master’s of Arts degree in Counselling Psychology.

My approach is client centered, believing you are the one that knows yourself the best. I will work with you where you are with your mental health concerns, and explore where you would like to be. I take a strengths-based perspective in recognizing that in spite of what you may have encountered or are currently experiencing, you are here and collaboratively we can uncover your strengths through past and present successes and build upon your resiliency. Furthermore, I will prioritize your worldviews, belief systems and values, while accepting and affirming your authentic self, all within a culturally safe and respectful space. Varied counselling approaches will be used to address your specific therapeutic needs, including existential, solution focused, narrative, person-centred, cognitive behavioral and eclectic.

I have extensive work experience as a child and youth care worker supporting the development and wellbeing of children and youth in a variety of settings. I also have volunteer experience supporting the wellbeing of elders encountering health challenges, grief, loss, loneliness and isolation. I am trained in Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST).

I am committed to establishing trust, by creating non-judgmental environment, as I appreciate the many feelings, thoughts and actions generated by the circumstances people may find themselves in. With your invitation, I would enjoy the privilege of coming alongside you, as you move towards your journey of enhancing your mental wellbeing.
