About…

Dwayne has a Master’s degree in Clinical Counselling and is a Certified Clinical Counsellor (CCC) with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (#10002037). He is an experienced Integrative Body Psychotherapist (IBP) specializing in trauma and addictions. This holistic approach to treatment recognizes how muscular patterns, belief systems and emotions are stored somatically (in the body). Integrating the whole person—mind, body, emotions, and spirit—to allow for healing transformation is the goal of treatment. Dwayne has worked in a residential treatment centre as an addiction and mental health counsellor, and for nearly a decade supported people with intellectual challenges. He is skilled in his work with adolescents and couples and has a solid background in family systems. Dwayne provides his clients with practical tools and strategies for reducing or eliminating symptoms of anxiety and depression, empowering them to manage day-to-day stressors and find joy again. His approachable nature and sense of humour make it easier to move through the healing process. He is currently accepting new clients and offering in-person appointments at 38 Victoria Crescent, downtown Nanaimo.
