Emma Chan (she/her) is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) offering therapy for children (5+), teens, and adults. She provides in-person sessions in Toronto and will soon be welcoming clients at her new office in Guelph, as well as virtual therapy for adults across Ontario.
Her approach is warm, collaborative, and creative—grounded in safety, respect, and the belief that healing happens through connection. Emma supports clients navigating anxiety, stress, low self-worth, identity exploration, life transitions, and relationship challenges. With children, sessions often include play, drawing, and storytelling to help them express emotions and build confidence. With teens and adults, therapy provides space to reflect, explore patterns, and move toward meaningful change at a pace that feels right.
Emma’s work is trauma-informed, anti-oppressive, and strengths-based. Depending on client needs, she integrates approaches such as ACT, narrative therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, CBT, mindfulness, and attachment-based work. She also partners with parents to support their child’s care while centering the young person’s voice and experience.
She holds an Honours BSc in Psychology (Mental Health specialization) and a Master of Education in Counselling and Psychotherapy from the University of Toronto. Before training as a therapist, Emma worked in science education for over 15 years, supporting children and families in learning and growth.
Emma is currently accepting new clients with no waitlist for both in-person and online therapy.
