We, as humans, need to create and maintain meaningful relationships with other individuals to know ourselves, regulate our emotions, and meet our basic needs. However, life sometimes throws challenging moments which impact our ability to form healthy attachments and regulate our emotions. I am committed to joining my clients across various ages and demographics in their healing journey to facilitate becoming the better version of themselves, creating healthy relationships, and being compassionate toward themselves and others to fulfill their needs.
My professional experience includes utilizing a holistic approach to psychotherapy drawing from various evidence-based psychotherapeutic approaches such as Dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT), Acceptance commitment therapy (ACT), Internal family system (IFS), emotionally focused psychotherapy (EFT), and motivational interviewing to support individuals, families, and couples with depression, anxiety, PTSD, trauma, low self-esteem, emotional regulation difficulties, and interpersonal relationship challenges. My work centers on collaborative psychotherapeutic relationships with my clients to identify and work toward meaningful and culturally sensitive goals to facilitate recovery from underlying issues. I offer psychotherapy through collaborative, empathetic, compassionate, client-centered, non-judgemental, strength-based, and trauma-informed psychotherapy.
I have an Honours bachelor’s degree from York University in Psychology and a Master of Science in Health and Rehabilitation from the University of Western Ontario. I am registered with the Ontario Society of Registered Psychotherapists (#64904734) and am completing my post-master program at Toronto Centre for Psychotherapy and Counselling Education to register with CRPO. I practice under the supervision of a registered practitioner registered with CRPO.
I am bilingual in English and Farsi and offer psychotherapy sessions at a lower cost as an Intern Psychotherapist and a free 15-minute initial consultation session. During the consultation session, I strive to listen, understand, and identify the challenges and approaches beneficial for my clients to support them in their healing journey.
