Your decision to pursue therapy tells me you are brave because seeking help is a sign of strength. While consulting a doctor for physical discomfort comes naturally to most of us (like ordering a pizza!), reaching out to a therapist can feel daunting. It’s like your mind is a maze, and you’re the adventurer without a map, just a flashlight. But with a therapist by your side, it’s less ‘slaying dragons’ and more ‘realizing the dragon isn’t so fearsome after all, just needs a hug, understanding, and a cup of coffee’. The best gift of therapy is discovering yourself.
Repeated experiences of stress, adversity, or trauma can create a disconnect from our authentic selves, leading us to develop habits and ways of coping that may no longer serve us. When things don’t work out how we had hoped, unhelpful thoughts can make us doubt ourselves, making us feel lost, stuck, or not good enough. Please know that you’re not alone in feeling this way. We all have these moments, varying in intensity.
In therapy, I offer a supportive space where we can work together to help you build the life you desire. I can help you learn new skills to manage difficult thoughts and feelings. We will explore your thoughts, triggers, and beliefs without judgment, helping you understand how they influence your emotions and actions. With this awareness, you can cultivate self-compassion, reconnect with your authentic self, and learn to respond to challenges in a more intentional way.
I strive to create a nurturing environment deeply rooted in trauma-informed principles, where safety, trust, collaboration, and empowerment serve as the pillars of transformation. In each session, I integrate various therapeutic modalities including Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, CBT, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and mindfulness interventions, creating a personalized and effective approach to healing.
I work with a diverse range of individuals, including adults and university students, who may be grappling with:
- Overwhelm, stress, work-life balance
- Anxiety
- Depression and Isolation
- Shame and low self-esteem
- Trauma – childhood, intergenerational, immigration
- Relational challenges
- Loss and Grief
- Life transitions
My goal is to walk alongside you, meeting your difficulties with curiosity, gentleness, and understanding. “Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and right-doing, there is a field. I’ll meet you there.” – Rumi
