Psychoanalytic (or psychodynamic) therapy can help us to become more aware of our thinking patterns and behaviours so we can better understand the obstacles that may be standing in our way. With time, we can gain new perspectives and develop the capacity to deal with life’s twists and turns, and meet our needs over the long term.
I offer an attentive, non-judgemental space for discussing thoughts, dreams, feelings, and memories, as they come to mind. Together we will explore the ways in which your past and present experiences may be contributing to your challenges, directly and indirectly. Fostering a relationship built on trust provides a safe and open pathway forward.
My approach is rooted in the psychoanalytic tradition, which is the focus of my training at the Toronto Institute of Psychoanalysis. I have also completed the Trauma Studies Program at the Los Angeles Institute and Society for Psychoanalytic Studies.
I offer individual psychodynamic psychotherapy (1-2/week) and psychoanalysis (4/week) to adults (16+). In-person and hybrid sessions are available. I reserve some spots for low cost psychoanalysis, so please inquire.
My practice is informed by 20 years of experience working in education, teaching visual arts and developing socially-engaged art projects that serve marginalized communities, public and private schools, and cultural spaces. I have also co-facilitated youth support groups ranging from substance abuse to life transitions. Making connections between myself and others is what drives my work.
Feel free introduce yourself, and know that I look forward to hearing from you.
