Affordable Therapy Toronto

Looking for Affordable Therapy in Toronto?

Your’e not alone.

Finding access to affordable therapy can be a significant challenge for many of us. The cost of therapy can vary widely, and it can be difficult to find a therapist who offers a sliding scale (and who is also a good fit for your needs!).

The good news is, there are options.  Listed below are some organizations based in Toronto who provide lower cost therapy options.

1. Affordable Therapy Network (Toronto)
The Affordable Therapy Network (that’s us!) is a social enterprise working towards increasing access to therapeutic support in Toronto and all across Canada.

ATN provides a directory of over 400 therapists, with the majority serving clients in Toronto or online across Ontario.  You can use the menu at the top to access our directory, or you can view our Online Therapists here.
Therapists listed with ATN offer Low Cost and Sliding Scale rates for those who need them.
Intern Therapists fees range from $25 – $70 per hour.
Registered Therapist fees generally range from $65 – $100 per hour.
“The community we aim to serve are those who, for various reasons, cannot pay standard rates but would really like someone to talk to.  While our home base is in Toronto, our therapists support folks all across Canada.”

“The Create Clinic provides options to children, youth, adults, couples and families from diverse backgrounds. It serves people with a wide range of needs in the wider Toronto area. The fee is $40.00 per session. No previous therapy or artistic experience is required.”

4. Toronto Institute Of Relational Therapy

Students in training and new graduates offer different tiers of rates, depending on the level of training they have met.  Fees range anywhere from $25-$80 per session.  This therapy school is based in Toronto, ON.

“Relational psychotherapy is a conversation. You and your therapist will talk about what’s troubling you, whatever that might be — for example, stress and anxiety, depression, relationship problems, low self-esteem, addictive patterns, or trauma you experienced earlier in your life. You don’t even have to know exactly what’s wrong; the nature of the trouble will emerge through conversation.

6. Hard Feelings
Hard Feelings is a unique store in Toronto that specializes in self-care products and mental health resources. They also provide access to low cost counselling with their community of therapists and provide a variety of workshops and events focused on mental health and wellness.
Therapy with a Hard Feelings counsellor ranges from $70-$100 (individual therapy).

Your Mental Health Matters

It’s essential to prioritize your mental health and seek support when you need it. While seeking therapy may seem daunting, it’s important to remember that mental health challenges are common, and seeking help is a sign of strength. Remember that taking care of your mental health is just as important as taking care of your physical health.
