Ali Muhammad

Hi, I’m Ali!

As a therapist, I strive to create a space where people feel they can be their authentic selves without fear of judgement or criticism. This means open communication, active listening, and a collaboration on goals towards your well-being.

I believe one of the most important parts of therapy is how connected you feel to your therapist! Therefore, in sessions, I aim to provide a space where you feel empowered, seen, and understood. All emotions, even our most difficult ones deserve space and that through processing our difficult emotions, we are able to heal.

I would love to work together to build a space of trust and partnership between us. Using a holistic approach, I am passionate about working with individuals with the following concerns:

  • Anxiety / Stress/ Burnout
  • Addiction / Substance Use
  • Depression / Mood Disorders
  • Grief / Loss
  • Trauma / Life Transitions
  • Relationship Issues / Family Conflict
  • Behavioural Change

Having faced several life challenges myself, such as grief and trauma, I am no stranger to being on the other side of therapy and have benefited greatly from it. I do not take a person’s vulnerability for granted and would be honoured to be a part of your journey!

If you think that we would be a good fit, please contact me for a free 20-minute phone consultation. I look forward to meeting you!

In moments of transition, we must often choose the unknown. It takes courage to lead ourselves towards growth and healing, especially when we have lost connections along the way. This dedication to becoming ourselves more fully deepens our presence, while also nourishing our past future ecosystems. Together, we can co-create respectful and trusting relationships and foster a planet anchored in connection, integrity, compassion, and joy.

For twenty years, I have supported children, youth, couples and families. I am passionate about collaboratively building resilience across developmental life stages. I hold a unique lens, as I care daily for my medically complex child and their sibling. I am privileged to hold a B.A. in Child and Youth Care Counselling (2010), and a Certified Member of the Ontario Association of Child and Youth Care

I am a French Irish settler in Treaty 13 territory, in Tkaronto (Toronto) I acknowledge many First Nations, Métis and Inuit communities that have held relationships with these lands since time immemorial. I am a life-longer learner of cultural humility and practicing Violence and Trauma Informed Care. I am a health equity advocate for siblings, patients, and family caregivers within the medical, developmental, and community care.
