Mike Stroh

Hello, I’m glad that you’ve found your way to this profile and I wish you the best in your search for the right person.  I have two sayings that I find quite useful when starting therapy.

  1. You can’t think your way into right action, you have to act your way into right thinking.
  2. There are no shortcuts, yet, there are many solutions!

As a therapist, my fundamental goal is to help and encourage you to look at the difficult parts of your life that are holding you back, while simultaneously helping you to cultivate the skills to live your life in a manner that is mentally healthy and purpose driven.  I work with people struggling with ADHD, addiction (specializing in cannabis), anxiety, depression and those having difficulty in their marriage or settling into a committed relationship. I also like to help people who feel lost in their life or who feel unfulfilled by their current profession and who hope to bring more meaning into their lives. I incorporate my skills as a mindfulness teacher into our sessions.

  • ACT, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy
  • CBT, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
  • MSC – Mindful Self-Compassion

If this resonates with you, I think we can do some great work together.  Take it easy, peace

Are you struggling with stress, anxiety, depression, trauma or fears?  Are you finding it difficult to cope with your day-to-day challenges; struggling with large life changes or decisions; or feeling stress related to serious medical issues or chronic pain?  I would be very glad to support you in coming to find increased peace and more authentic and full life expression. Some approaches that we may use are:

  • Talk therapy:  I offer an accepting space for you to explore what is happening in your life, to share your story and your feelings and thoughts. I believe that as we become consciously aware of our thoughts and feelings and their origins, these change to be more peaceful.
  • Cognitive behaviour approaches help to understand and to change stuck patterns of thought and behaviour that are no longer serving you.
  • Family pattern origins and early adverse events may be where current patterns began as a way to cope, and we can explore where earlier in your life these started.
  • Meditative process can be used.   Sometimes people find that they are “of two minds” or may find that at some level they are critical of themselves, and it can be helpful to become more aware of these inner conflicting parts. Since much of our experience and thoughts are not usually accessible to our conscious awareness, the meditative approach can deepen awareness of thoughts and feelings, and to identify early life events where these originate.
  • Somatic mind/body modalities (Emotional Freedom Techniques/EFT/tapping; EMDR) can help to release pain and to make changes more gently and easily since emotional and physical pain can be held in the body and are not just in mind.
  • As a spiritual being, you are connected to the wisdom and love of Universal Energy, whether you think of this as God or angels, or in other ways.  If you choose, we can invite in this divine help as part of our work.

I am a Registered Psychotherapist with training in Spiritual Psychotherapy and Spiritual Direction, Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT, tapping), trauma treatment, and cognitive behaviour therapy.  I continue to study, learn, and participate in advanced training in order to better serve my clients. If you think that we might be a good fit to work together, I would be glad to have a free half hour phone call to so that we could explore this.

Madison Powell

Hello, I’m Madison Moon ne:Powell (she/her) and I’m a graduated student therapist at the Toronto Institute for Relational Psychotherapy. My approach as a relational therapist means that I will work with you on an even playing field to discover and understand the ways you move through the world, your relationships with others and what that means for you. I’m also a Sex Therapist with training through University of Guelph. I’ve been working in sexual health and pleasure as well as various aspects of the LGBTQIA2, BDSM and Polyamorous communities professionally for over 5 years and personally for over 12. I’m here to help you explore identity, transition, oppression, trauma, grief and anxiety.  If you so desire, I want to help you recognize, honour and understand beliefs and patterns of behaviour that may no longer serve you in the ways you want them to. I also want to help you accept, embrace, explore and celebrate any aspects of your identity or sexuality that you’re struggling with. Let’s learn to love you, as you are now, together. You matter. You are not alone. You belong where there is love.
